In July 2026 we helped shape a journey for three families — eight people spanning three generations — nine days and eight nights across Hokkaido and Tokyo.
In Hokkaido they toured a cosmetics maker's factory in Sunagawa and blended a fragrance of their own. At Otaru we put out a boat to the Blue Cave; in Furano they met lavender at its height and melon in season; at Biei they stopped at the Blue Pond.
When grandparents and grandchildren spend the same day together, the walkable distance, the comfortable temperature and the direction of curiosity are all different. We measured the pace of each day so that everyone could stand before the same view.
What they carried home was not only photographs. The fragrance blended by their own hands will, for a while yet, keep returning them to those few days.
